How Come Nobody Told Me About This Earlier?
Man.
I hope this just came out recently. If it's been out for a long time, then I'm p*ssed off that I didn't start using it earlier!
Log Me In. Specifically, www.logmein.com.
It's just like it sounds. It lets me log in to other computers. Like my wife's laptop, where our entire LIVES are managed in her Outlook calendar. And my parents' computer in Cape Breton, which occasionally needs some familial technical support. Here's what it looks like when you're remotely controlling another machine:
I can log into them remotely from whatever computer I'm at, provided that it has a web browser. (A little LogMeIn client needs to install on each of the machines involved.)
Oh, and it's free. There are pay versions with more fancy features, but the free version suits me just fine.
It's pretty sweet. In fact, in one tab on my Firefox browser, I'm here blogging. On the other tab, I'm installing Java on my parents' computer in Cape Breton.
Life just got a *tiny* bit easier.

Doesn't that make you like, a hacker or something? Now you'll have to come up with some cool hacker nickname.
Yes, no you have to feel bad, I'M using it for more than a year now ;)
Hi guys,
I use Teamviewer for connecting to other computers. Teamviewer is also for free and has no hacker-abilities :) but helps remote controling computers over the whole world and comes with quite nice features like file transfer, chat, server mode...
